Nick is great, he gives me chocolate cake

This is a post about my man, so if you can't stand the mooshy gooshy stuff you probably will want to skip this one.

I read a post about couples taking separate vacations. I imagine that being with kids 24/7 or even 16/7 can get pretty tiring and after awhile you just need a break to remind yourself and everyone else that you are a human bean and not just a parent. I can't imagine wanting a vacation without Nick. Maybe it's the honeymoon phase (and yes I am just saying that as a rhetorical device against that idea) but I love all the time I can get with Nick. We go to class, work, sleep, exercise (just kidding), cook, clean, pray, and read side by side. It's awesome and I'm not looking forward to the day when we have to have jobs that take us apart from each other for 8-10 hour blocks. (I'm trying to convince him to work from home, but he says he's not disciplined enough for it, which is code for I interrupt too much with my random thoughts. :) To sum up, I love my guy and the time we get together.

  1. I am in the same boat, Alison. My boy and I still snuggle every night on the couch; we love to read next to each other, go for long drives together, and even keep each other company in the kitchen.

So glad your marriage is successful; keep up the good work!
