Tips from the two of us

Shirt/Skirt: Thrifted, Cardigan: Target, Shoes: Ann Taylor (via Ebay) Earrings: the Field Museum

Much thanks for all of your encouraging comments; they made my Monday a lot easier.

Today I want to talk about happier things.

Newlywed things. :)

Nick and I have a good great life, right now. But, we also have a lot of important changes and decisions coming up in the near future; what to spend our energy doing, where to live, where to work, what to do for work, etc. So, I want to give you the magical tip that keeps us happy and helps make our relationship work.

Curious?

It's actually quite simple. I put him first and he puts me first and then we're both taken care of and don't have to look out for our own interests first. We're not perfect at it, but when we keep this way of relating in mind there is less selfishness and more unity of thoughts. Surprisingly we don't spend all of our time asking, "What do you want to do?" "I don't know, what do you want to do?" Most of it is internal. And when situations arise, which they frequently do, we talk it out and figure it out and always know that we're the most important person to the other and that they want our happiness above anything else.

I am the most important to him!

And he is the most important to me. This is one of the big anchors that keeps our relationship steady.

(Ship-pun not originally intended, but then definitely intended.)

This works for us.
