The Story/Book-Kylie and Spencer

I'm so happy to be featuring Kylie and Spencer today. Kylie is a beautiful writer and has written for one of my favorite publications, Kinfolk, but she also happens to be an amazing photographer. I swoon over her work, especially the cultural/humanitarian pieces. Spencer works in the film industry and they travel the world together capturing their experiences in words and images. Go be smitten by their beautiful life together on their blog, The Flybird.

Thanks Kylie and Spencer, for being a part of
The Story/Book.
The Story~
We both grew up with mamas who read us books at night. My mom was a bookworm, known for staying up to the wee hours of morning tucked in bed with a good romance novel. She was also known to be a speed-reader, finishing book after book before I could even ask what it was about. Spencer's mom was similar - and coming from mothers who both happen to be 3rd grade teachers, reading is just in our blood.

The Book~
The Anatomy of Peace is a book that will change the way you think about, view and behave in relationships. It's a self-analysis that will really snap you into check and inspire you to just be an all around better and nicer person to be around. It's a lesson-learning book. However, it's not just one that makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside but rather it challenges you to face your hardest and biggest problems with a humble heart and willingness to change. Are you ready for this? As for Star Wars, is that not self-explanatory? It's awesome.

  7. Over from The Flybird. :) I love that Kylie and Spencer's moms were both 3rd grade teachers. :) And my momma was a bookworm too! The description of Kylie's mom reading a book so fast she finished it before anyway could ask what it was about made me smile.

The Anatomy of Peace sounds like an incredible read...it's next on my list, after I finish Let It Go by Chris Williams (a light read, yet very moving). :) Thanks for sharing Kylie!

And I'm glad I found this blog. Lovely images! And that lemon polenta cake...get in my belly. ;)

  9. I am so happy I clicked on the link on The Flybird and found this blog! I really enjoy it (and I'm your newest follower)! I love these images and I am a graduate student of History focusing on Genocide and Conflict studies/theory so I shall pick up The Anatomy of Peace. My Jason would love the Star Wars book. He loves the original trilogy.
